Very smart.
The photo reminds me of a very old fan I saw somewhere. The protective screen was such that a child would have been able to get his head between the gaps in it.

He’s such a darling. He’s standing there feeling the breeze and wondering at it? Is he your son or grandson?

Thanks everyone for your comments!
Nancy, he’s my grandson and he’s using the fan to get his little toy windmill to move.
Delmer, this fan had really big gaps too and we had to watch him all the time. Didn’t want him to stick his little fingers in those gaps.
