Dare to dream

I’ve been thinking a lot of dreams lately. Not the dreams we dream when asleep, but the ones we dream with our eyes wide open. Some people dream the wildest dreams, there is no limit to their dreams and everything seems possible. Then there are those who never dream, because they are sure nothing will […]

Little Baby Booker

Little Baby Booker

I’m enjoying my time in Florida and I just love spending time with little Baby Booker. He’s a really calm baby, he sleeps most of the time, so catching him when he’s awake is a task. This is a fresh photo from today and the baby is one week old here.

New life

This was harder than I thought… giving birth to children is a lot easier when you are the one doing it… waiting is hard, I understand the fathers a lot better now. My grandson is now born and I’m a grandmother, I’m the one allowed to spoil him.

I’m going to leave for Florida on Tuesday and […]

Spirituality and religion

Spirituality and religion

It’s been snowing, the first snow of the year. The picture above is not from this year, but I think it’s a good picture for what I’m going to write. Yesterday was All Saints Day and even though I don’t belong to any religion I thought I’d honour the traditions in my country and blog […]

To be in a moment of time

To be in a moment of time

No matter how far I go, no matter where life takes me, my heart will always be here…
Nourished by the land, refreshed by the sea…
Walking the path others walked before me, trying to leave a footprint hoping someone will follow…
How can you ever understand the things that are greater than you? How can you find […]

Watering my thoughts

Watering my thoughts

My father didn’t talk much and he listened even less. You could talk to him for a long while and he was nodding, but at one point you always noticed that he didn’t listen. Usually that made me talk even more… I wanted to force him to listen by washing him with words.

I hate it when […]

My grandparent’s house

My grandparent's house

This house was built by my grandparent’s to replace the house they had to leave after the war ended. They lived in the house while building a bigger one. Later on one of the rooms became a sauna and the another room became a guest bedroom.

I used to play in this house, and later […]

Don’t forget we need air to survive

Don't forget we need air to survive

What takes your breath away? What makes your knees go soft and make you feel you need to get something to hold on to? What makes your heart beat faster? When asking these questions I’m pretty sure most of us think of a special person in our lives; either one that has been a part […]

Autumn

Autumn

This post is inspired by something Jon wrote about autumn. His post reminded me of something I, myself wrote many years ago to a man I thought was the love of my life. I was a lot younger then, but I felt older. I was so sure I knew what love is. The man turned […]

Trucker Tom’s podcast and communication

You already know that I love photography. I also have a soft spot for truckers, because my dad used to be a trucker when I was little. In fact, my dad found the Brownie box camera I started shooting with, when he was driving his truck in Russia.

Through the Tips from the top floor podcast […]
